Optimum Motorsport’s Car 4 returned to action for Round 4 of GT World Challenge Europe Endurance at the Nürburgring, with Harry George facing the challenge of a completely new circuit.

With the Nürburgring being a familiar venue for many of the factory drivers on the grid, finding the pace against such experienced opposition proved challenging. Harry qualified P43 overall and P8 in the Gold class, leaving the team with plenty of ground to make up during the race.

Starting the race, Harry immediately set about making progress through the field. A strong opening stint saw him make around five to seven overtakes while building confidence and pace throughout. By the end of his stint, the number 4 Mclaren was running at a pace almost matching the leaders, demonstrating the progress made across the weekend at a new circuit.

Car 4 ultimately finished P28 overall and P7 in the Gold class. While the qualifying position had a significant impact on the final result, the race performance provided plenty of encouragement, with the pace shown during the stint proving that the potential was there to fight further towards the front.

With just one endurance round remaining in the GT World Challenge Europe season, the team now turns its attention to Portimão for the final long-distance challenge of the campaign.
