George takes British GT GT4 silver championship
George & Hopkinson Crowned GT4 Silver Champions

The final round of the 2025 British GT Championship took place at the Donington Circuit on the world-famous Grand Prix layout. George and his co-driver Hopkinson arrived with a mathematical chance at the overall championship and firmly in contention for the silver title, confidence was high within the Optimum Motorsport camp.
Both drivers showed strong pace throughout free practice, setting a positive tone for the weekend. Qualifying proved competitive, with George & Hopkinson combining for P4 overall in GT4 after placing P2 & P7 in their respective sessions. A solid foundation for Sundays two hour finale.
Race day brought typically unpredictable British weather, with conditions alternating between greasy and damp. George took the start and immediately adapted to the tricky surface, finding a strong rhythm in the early stages. Demonstrating both pace and control, he built a commanding 30 second lead in GT4 before pitting to hand over to Hopkinson. Carrying a 20 second success penalty from their overall win at the previous round, George’s opening stint proved vital in keeping the pair in podium contention. Hopkinson then took the wheel for the final hour, delivering a mature and measured drive to bring the Mclaren Artura home third overall after a tense last lap scrap with the Leading Pro-Am BMW.
Despite the setback of a mechanical DNF at the opening round, George and Hopkinson’s consistency and strong results throughout the remainder of the campaign saw them climb back into championship contention. In fact, without that early retirement, the pairing would have been genuine contenders for the overall GT4 title underlining just how competitive and consistent their season was. Ultimately, their efforts were rewarded with the GT4 Silver Championship, a remarkable achievement in such a fiercely contested field.
